( ILI )

Pipeline Integrity is considered the safe operation and maintenance of all related pipeline components.

Everything from design, construction, operations and maintenance to decommissioning and retirement is done to ensure pipelines are operated safely.

Today’s pipeline operators are faced with strict regulations regarding their pipeline integrity management programs.

A series of industry reports identifies 22 common pipeline threats, in nine basic classes, as three key types:

·       Static (such as mill threats)

·       Time independent (such as third-party damage)

·       Time dependent (such as corrosion)

Threats that can be detected or characterized by in-line inspection (ILI) tools and technologies will be differentiated from the threats that cannot be detected by ILI tools. Figure below shows where ILI is an optimal use, and where is a possible use of ILI.

The ILI integrity assessment process is excellent for some threats, better and more established for others, and will never be applicable for certain threats; therefore other inspection or assessment methods are required to fully address all pipeline threats and risks.

In-Line Inspection (ILI) promotes a safe, efficient,

and cost-effective method of integrity assessment.

In Line tools provide a practical way of inspecting the integrity of a pipeline while not interrupting product flow. ILI detects, identifies, and locates a wide variety of features and anomalies that can threaten the integrity.

NOVA In-Line

NOVA In-Line was founded in 2019. After over twelve years of operational experience with four major ILI players, I felt that I could be of better value to pipeline operators being independent from hardware and ILI service providers.

Currently NOVA In-Line offer customers an extended range of advisory services, to assist with demanding regulatory requirements. The services are dedicated to successfully converting conceptual plans to safe inspecting the pipelines with ILI technologies.

The scope of the consulting services range from marketing, planning and ILI project management to post-inspection activities.

NOVA In-Line safety culture begins with zero incident performance as an expectation and promotes continuous improvement in safety performance. Zero incident performance means error-free, incident-free project execution: no occupational injuries or illnesses, property damage, adverse community impacts, or environmental impacts.

This safety culture does not happen by chance – it is achieved through the integration of safety into all management systems, the project processes, and by individual effort.

NOVA In-Line believes that company management and supervision are responsible for planning safety into each work task and for avoiding incidents, conditions, and actions that could lead to occupational injuries or illnesses.

Communications, awareness, and recognition reinforce the achievement of safety excellence.

Safety will never be sacrificed for services. Safety must be considered to be a fundamental part of quality control, cost reduction, and job efficiency.

The goal is the total elimination of accidents and incidents from operations and to provide added value to our customers through exceptional performance in environment, safety and health protection.

Every employee and subcontractor is responsible for preventing incidents and eliminating conditions that could lead to occupational injuries and illnesses.

NOVA In-Line recognizes that occupational injuries and illnesses are preventable, and that a high level of safety performance provides long-term benefits, including healthy employees and a productive work environment.

Safety is an integral part of the company and daily project activities, and will not be compromised.
